Kenneth C. Amatrudo

U.S. Army
1967-1969

Kenneth Amatrudo played baseball and basketball at both St. Teresa School in Castleton Corners and the Port Richmond CYO. He was a talented musician and artist. He graduated from Port Richmond High School class of 1967. His tank training was in Fort Knox Kentucky.

Sergeant Kenneth C. Amatrudo was killed on August 10, 1969 while attempting to rescue passengers in a capsized boat in Raritan Bay. He was posthumously awarded the Empire State Medal of Honor.

Ken was survived by his parents, Emanuel K. and Marie R. Amatrudo. Brothers, Gary, Emanuel, Victor and John. Josephine Street in Four Corners was named in his honor in 2009.
