Salvatore J. Ricca

U.S. Army
1951-1953

Born in Tompkinsville on January 19, 1931, Salvatore, a McKee HighSchool graduate, was drafted into the
U.S. Army in 1951 and stationed in Germany.

Salvatore married Assunta in 1957 and they settled in Port Richmond in 1961, where they raised their two
children, Linda and Raymond. He worked for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection for 35 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1992.

Salvatore was a member of the Michael J. Labetti VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 2159, as were five of his brothers, all of whom served in the U.S. military. Together the brothers attended many of the Post’s meetings and events.

At the time of his passing in April of 2020, Salvatore was the husband of Rachel and proud grandfather of six and great-grandfather of eight.
