Arthur L. White

U.S. Navy
Vietnam
1963 to 1967

Arthur L. White was a native Staten Islander and graduate of New Dorp High School. He was married for 41 years to his wife Linda (nee La Spina), father to Jill Kissel and Arthur L. White II, and grandfather to Mason and Veronica.

Arthur proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Arthur worked and retired from the New York Telephone Company after 35 years and then worked as a Security Guard at the College of Staten Island for 10 years. He was actively involved in the Michael J. Labetti VFW Post and the Fleet Reserve Association.

Arthur is described by his family as the true definition of a family man. He always enjoyed going on trips with his wife, Linda, especially the bus trips they took and the cruises they went on. He also enjoyed family meals and outings surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Arthur was also an avid bowler, and narrowly missed a perfect 300 score by one pin.

Arthur passed away on December 24, 2018.
