Join us on Armed Forces Day the Historic Reformed Church of Port Richmond (54 Port Richmond Avenue), as we celebrate the launch of our "Port Richmond Honors our Veterans" Celebration. Meet the veterans featured on this year's banners and celebrate with family and friends their dedication to our country.  After launch ceremony, guest can learn about the veterans with Tour of our historic burial grounds, and then take self guided tours on Port Richmond Avenue, visiting local businesses along Port Richmond Avenue and enjoy special offers for tour participants.

NOTE: THIS EVENT IS SOCIALLY DISTANCED - MASKS REQUIRED

July - Spotlight on Veterans Park - Food Festival

Staten Island's oldest city park is the Port Richmond Village Green, which is known as Veterans Park.  We will have a tent at the Port Richmond Food Festival on Saturday, July 31, with information about the Banners project, free self-guided tour maps, and lots of history.

50th anniversary - Brownie's Sport & Hobbies

Stop by Brownie's Sport & Hobbies, a Port Richmond legend, founded by Banner Vet, George W. Brown who joined the Navy and served in WWII at 17 and later served in the Korean War. This year the store celebrates its 50th anniversary

Veteran's Day Celebration

Special thank you to our Afghanistan veterans.  Keynote speech by Robert Ollis, Gold Star Father of Michael Ollis. Banners will hang until new ones are installed in May 2022.   Includes unveiling of replacement tombstone for John Zeliff, a veteran of the War of 1812.

National Wreaths Across America Day
