Brian P. Fleming

Colonel (Ret.) Brian Fleming is a native of Tottenville and a proud graduate of Tottenville High School. He is a 1998 Distinguished Military Graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and History. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree from Georgetown University, Master of Military Art and Science from Command and General Staff College and Master of Art from National Intelligence University.

Brian was commissioned as an Infantry officer in the United States Army, and later served as a Military Intelligence officer. During 27 years of distinguished active-duty service, COL Fleming deployed to Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait and served multiple tours in Germany. He assumed duty as the Command Inspector General for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), on 15 August 2022 and retired in 2026.

His assignments included service with the 1st Infantry Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, Special Operations Command-Africa, the 66th Military Intelligence Brigade, V Corps, the XVIII Airborne Corps, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Department of the Army staff at the Pentagon.

Brian’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (with OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (with OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal (2nd Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), NATO Medal (3rd Award), Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, German Parachutist Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in Gold.

After nearly three decades of dedicated service to the nation, COL Fleming is now enjoying retirement with his wife and two children.
