Pedro P. Perez, Jr. was born in Bani, Dominican Republic on October 2, 1940. He grew up in Longwood Avenue in the Bronx. He went to PS52 in Bronx and moved to Riverside Drive in Manhattan and attended Haaren High School. He attended New York Community College in Brooklyn to study to be a dental technician.
Pete enlisted in the Army in June 1960. He had training as a dental laboratory technician and medical corp. Pete served in the DMZ Zone in Korea until 1963 and was honorably discharged in June 1966. He then joined FDNY on May 31, 1969. Pete was a NYC fireman for 30 years.
He married his wife, Stephanie, in 1992 and they enjoyed traveling together.
In his retirement years, Pete was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Little Egg Harbor, NJ.
Pete had a great personality, lit up every room he entered and made friends wherever he went.
Pete passed away on June 3, 2023.
