John P. DeMartinis

John "Pete" DeMartinis was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas and Tachikawa Air Base, Japan. He completed training as an engine mechanic. Upon completion of his service, he returned home to Staten Island to marry the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Pisano, on July 3, 1960.

Residing in Port Richmond they raised two children, John and Linda. "Pa" was a proud Grandfather of his five grandchildren Matthew, Troy, Cody, Melissa and Samantha and Great Grandpa of Erin (Cody).

After retiring from the Department of Sanitation in 1990 his roots remained solid in Port Richmond. He delivered flowers for Scalici Florist and food to the homebound for Meals on Wheels.

John enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with his wife, friends and family. He was loved by many for his sarcastic, but funny, sense of humor. His untimely passing has touched many. He will always be in our hearts.

He was called home on November 13, 2023 at the age of 87.
